This dish is designed to give you the taste of a fry-up, but be minimal so you can have it occasionally without making a drastic impression on your weight loss plan especially at those times when you are not on a specific diet scheme. It is easy to spot the ingredients in the photo below. The eggs are poached, so there is no fat used in the cooking, but they taste just as good. I normally poach the eggs once the water is boiling for 5 or 6 minutes depending on the egg size. This will ensure that you get a runny yolk, but the white is all cooked. The picture shows fried bread, but this could easily be toast. Finally just one rasher of bacon is enough to put a good size piece in each bite. The bacon could also have the fat trimmed off. Personally the fat is my favourite bit and provides a distinct flavour that I would rather keep. As for the beans, half of a small can should be enough for one person.
----There is an alternative that offers less fat. I actually prefer this to the fry up, but nothing about it is fried. This is poached egg on dry toast with thin sliced German smoked ham. It's quite a nice light breakfast, but just as tasty as the fried version above. A blob of mayo is substituted for the portion of beans, so this takes the dryness away from the toast.
